It is amazing when you can capture an image that tells a story. A photo of a moment in time. The thousand words that it speaks. All of this through the eye of the person behind the lens.
The photo above is of a run down old shack near my home. At the bottom of the shack there are a couple of boards missing and the contents available for all to see - that is for those who are willing to wade through the bushes to satisfy curiosity.
The old jug tells of an era gone past. Is it a moon-shiners jug? Perhaps it held molasses that someone’s grandmother used while cooking. In the background the roll of wire depicts this is a working man’s shed. A gasoline can confirms it. In another shed nearby are the old lawnmowers that were fed from this old gas can. Lawnmowers too old to be of use today. Rusting away into eternity in a shed that will be gone before the metal of the mowers.
Neither the sands of time nor the leaves of change stop for anyone. Nature assimilates the old and changes it into something new. We are left only with the image; the moment in time.
